Topography dependence of terrestrial litter-derived soil respiration

This repository contains the dataset and R code associated with the study “Topography dependence of terrestrial litter-derived soil respiration.” It includes a global compilation of litter-addition and litter-removal experiments, environmental covariates, statistical and machine-learning scripts, and spatial projections of litter-derived soil respiration under current and future climate conditions. The dataset comprises 2,793 paired observations from 97 studies published before April 2025 and covers forests, grasslands, croplands, and wetlands worldwide.
