资源简介:
This investigation explores the efficacy of an integrated model combining self-control theory and routine activity theory in elucidating online fraud victimization. The study utilizes survey data collected from a sample of 1050 Chinese university students. Results indicate that the integrated model demonstrates greater predictive power for fraud victimization outcomes compared to target selection. Low self-control emerges as a robust predictor of victimization. With the exception of age, demographic variables exhibit limited explanatory capacity regarding the risk of becoming a target. Among routine online activities, only online gaming and online reselling demonstrate significant associations with victimization risk. Three specific risky online behaviors are identified as potent predictive factors. The findings lend support to the hypothesis that the relationship between low self-control and victimization is partially mediated, while also confirming a significant direct effect.
