Health knowledge and drug use among high school students, 1980

As part of a series of school-based health and personal development education programs conducted by the Health Commission and Department of Education in Northern Sydney, comprehensive surveys of Junior High School adolescents were undertaken. Questions were concerned with health concepts such as exercise, nutrition, safety, consumer health, hygiene, physiology, social-emotional development, self-concept, sexuality, drug use/abuse and leisure time activities. The following drugs were investigated: marijuana, pain relievers, tobacco, narcotics, alcohol, sedatives, hallucinogens and stimulants. Respondents were questioned on their age at first use, present use, quantity, source and setting of use and perception of the drug as dangerous. Background variables included sex, year, family structure, parents' occupations, and student's source of income.

作为北悉尼卫生委员会（Health Commission）与教育局（Department of Education）联合开展的一系列校本健康与个人发展教育项目的组成部分，研究团队针对初中（Junior High School）青少年开展了全面调查。调研问卷涵盖运动、营养、安全、消费者健康、卫生学、生理学、社会情感发展、自我概念、性健康、药物使用/滥用以及休闲活动等健康相关主题。本次调研涉及的药物包括：大麻（marijuana）、镇痛药物（pain relievers）、烟草（tobacco）、麻醉药品（narcotics）、酒精（alcohol）、镇静剂（sedatives）、致幻剂（hallucinogens）以及兴奋剂（stimulants）。受访学生需回答其首次使用各类药物的年龄、当前使用情况、使用剂量、获取渠道与使用场景，以及对该药物危险性的认知。调研收集的背景变量包括：性别、就读年级、家庭结构、父母职业以及学生个人收入来源。
