Digital Archive from a Photographic Survey and Watching Brief at Barnston Manor, Church Knowle, Dorset, September 2022-May 2023

This collection comprises images, site records, a report, and plans from a photographic survey and watching brief at Barnston Manor, Church Knowle, Dorset. This work was undertaken by Terrain Archaeology between September 2022 and May 2023. Four buildings were recorded: barn, stables, shelter sheds, and a dairy house/milking parlour. These dated between the late 18th to the early 20th centuries. Most of the buildings had lost their original agricultural purpose in the 1960s when a new farmyard was created. The external drainage works revealed some details of earlier yard surfaces and evidence for considerable landscaping of the south lawn.
