Dataset and Code for: Four-Fifths of Carbon Emissions from 2023 Record-Breaking Wildfires in Canada Traced to Soil and Peat Combustion

This repository contains the analysis codes and generated burn scar and carbon emission maps supporting the study 'Four-Fifths of Carbon Emissions from 2023 Record-Breaking Wildfires in Canada Traced to Soil and Peat Combustion,' submitted to Geophysical Research Letters. Specifically, this dataset includes three files: AGC_BA_map_compressed.tif: The Aboveground Carbon (AGC) emission density map. SOC_BA_map_compressed.tif: The Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) emission density map, which also serves as the burn scar map. Scripts.zip: A compressed file containing the R and Python analysis scripts.
