Tuft cells and fibroblasts promote thymus regeneration through activation of a type-2 immune response [Fibroblasts_after_irr]

The goal of this study was to understand the role of fibroblasts in thymic regeneration following irradiation-induced acute involution. For this purpose we treated WT mice with sublethal irradiation, sorted fibroblasts from their thymi 3 days after treatment when the thymus begins its recovery, or at an earlier time point (1 day) for comparison, and performed bulk RNA Seq. Overall design: Young male WT mice were treated with sublethal irradiation 3 days/1 day before sacrifice, and then fibroblasts were isolated and mRNA profiles were generated by deep sequencing using the MARSseq method. 5 replicates were used. The control was untreated age-matched WT mice.
