Phyllis Haviland Sketchbook (8)

Phyllis Haviland worked as a nurse throughout the Great War. The attached images are the pages of her autograph book, in which she allowed wounded soldiers to draw sketches and write poetry. I believe she is the nurse photographed with her patients in images 02 and 03. 04 relates to her family, and 05 has photographs of soldiers orphans. The rest of the book contains sketches and poetry.

While most of the content seems to relate to the time when she worked at St Marks Hospital in Chelsea, London, she may have moved to a hospital in St Albans later in the War. One or two of the later notes may have been made there.

菲利斯·哈维兰（Phyllis Haviland）在第一次世界大战（Great War）期间全程担任护士职务。本次随附的图像均取自其签名纪念册（autograph book），她曾准许负伤士兵在此册中绘制速写、题写诗文。我认为，图像02与03中与病患同框的护士正是她本人。图像04的内容与其家庭相关，图像05则收录了士兵孤儿的肖像照片。该纪念册其余页面均为各类速写与诗文作品。
