Histological alternative to visualize the collagen density present in both dorsal prostate lobes of E. coli infected mice and histologically inflamed prostates in humans with LUTD. C57BL/6J male mice instilled with Escherichia coli (E. coli) as described in Fig 4A and human prostate sections, obtained by simple prostatectomy from men with LUTD, were prepared and Golomi Trichrome. Hematoxlyin QS was used to visualize nuclei. Brightfield images were taken using an Eclipse E600 compound microscope. Scale bar = 100 µm.
