Lichens (grid representation)

The database for the distribution of lichens in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is maintained and managed at the Botanical Institute of the University of Greifswald. It is part of the floristic database, which also includes Higher Plants, Moose, Mushrooms, and Large Algae (http://www.flora-mv.de, Contact: Dr. Florian Jansen). Recognised species speciality lists for lichens in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are Dr. Ulf Schiefelbein (LUNG) and Ms Birgitt Litterski (University of Greifswald) A database extract was handed over to the LUNG in November 2011 (as of: 22.11.2011). The original data are available in Gauss-Krüger coordinates and have been converted into the ETRS system. The available database fle11_r.shp contains all found information of the database as raster data, i.e. in relation to measuring table sheet quadrants. It contains both the data originally recorded at the level of measuring table sheet quadrants as well as the point data converted to measuring table sheet quadrants. The latter, precise data are also available as a stand-alone database (fle11_p.shp). Note on taxonomy: The taxonomy of the lichens is subject to continuous development. The reference list GermanSL (Jansen & Dengler 2008, p. u.) developed by the network phytodiversity (http://netphyd.floraweb.de/) and the reference list for lichens of the LUNG (2007). The reference list German SL is available as an additional table (fle11_tax.dbf). Both reference lists cannot be completely assigned to the find points or their taxonomic designation and cannot be linked to each other via coding. Thus, the encodings of both reference lists are carried: Tax number and family number are encoded in the reference list LUNG (2007). Speciesnr. and Validnr. are encoded in the GermanSL. If Speciesnr. and Validnr. agree, the tax name corresponds to the currently valid scientific species name. If these numbers are different, the valid number indicates the valid name. This comparison has already been carried out for the available spatial data pool, the valid name is entered as an attribute “taxnam_akt” (possibly only for data sets wel-che can be linked to the German SL).
