In this study, we used quantitative stable isotope probing (qSIP) to unravel the active microbial groups responsible for the turnover of the 13C-dissolved organic sulfur (DOS) substances (taurine, methionine and dimethyl sulfide) in the marine sediments collected from Puerto Rico slope at a depth of 493 meters. For these qSIP incubations, the first ten centimeter of the sediment section was incubated for one and ten days. Moreover, incubations amended with glucose were also carried out to compare microbial DOS utilizations rates to that of glucose. The uploaded sequences represent the 16S rRNA sequences from the qSIP fractions (taurine, methionine and glucose) and the metagenomes only from heavy fractions. 本研究采用定量稳定同位素探针(quantitative stable isotope probing,qSIP)技术,解析了从波多黎各斜坡493米水深采集的海洋沉积物中,负责13C标记溶解有机硫(dissolved organic sulfur,DOS)物质(牛磺酸、甲硫氨酸与二甲基硫)周转的活性微生物类群。针对该qSIP培养实验,我们对沉积物柱状样的前10厘米层位分别开展1天与10天的培养。此外,我们还设置了添加葡萄糖的对照培养实验,以对比微生物对DOS与葡萄糖的利用速率。本次上传的序列涵盖来自qSIP分馏组分(牛磺酸、甲硫氨酸及葡萄糖组)的16S rRNA序列,以及仅来自重分馏组分的宏基因组序列。如需了解本研究的详细信息,请查阅我们已发表的学术论文。
