World List of Merostomata

This global species list of Merostomata is part of the World Register of Marine Species database, which aims to provide the most authoritative list of names of all marine species globally. There are only four valid recent species of horseshoe crabs (Merostomata), but the group has an extensive fossil record not captured by WoRMS. The synonymies are mainly drawn from the annotated catalogue of the horseshoe crabs in the collections of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin by Dunlop, Compton & Friederichs (2012). Data have been contributed to the Catalogue of Life via the WoRMS, hosted by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ).

本肢口纲（Merostomata）全球物种名录隶属于世界海洋物种目录（World Register of Marine Species, WoRMS）数据库，该数据库旨在构建全球范围内最具权威性的海洋物种名称名录。目前肢口纲下仅存4种被正式认可的现生鲎类物种，但该类群拥有极为丰富的化石记录，这部分数据并未被WoRMS收录。本名录的异名体系主要源自Dunlop、Compton与Friederichs于2012年发表的针对柏林自然博物馆馆藏鲎类标本的注释性编目文献。相关数据集已通过由佛兰德斯海洋研究所（Flanders Marine Institute, VLIZ）托管的WoRMS，提交至生命目录（Catalogue of Life）。
