Controlled Clinical Experiment. Smoking Cessation Among Men with Asbestos Exposition and/or Reduced Lung Function, 1991

The aim of the project was to answer the question: Is it possible to change the smoking habits of people at high risk of serious lung disease with a simple and inexpensive intervention such as letters and brochures on smoking cessation? An intervention trial was conducted with smokers who were at high risk of developing lung disease. The information collected aimed to shed light on the effect of this intervention. A postal survey was carried out among men aged 30-44 who attended a screening examination and who live in all municipalities in Hordaland except Bergen.
