Vibrio cyclitrophicus ZF270 on alginate and digested alginate

Genomic and transcriptomic study of the marine isolate Vibrio cyclitrophicus ZF270 to understand the cellular regulation during cycles of polysaccharide degradation and cell dispersal toward new polysaccharide hotspots. 1) We combined long- and short-read sequencing to obtain a closed, high quality genome of Vibrio cyclitrophicus ZF270. 2) We then grew Vibrio cyclitrophicus ZF270 on either alginate or enzymatically digested alginate to mid exponential phase and isolated the transcriptome. The expression changes highlighted the response of Vibrio cyclitrophicus ZF270 to alginate degradation products in contrast to undigested alginate.
