Self-reported unmet need for medical examination and care by sex

The indicator measures the share of the population aged 16 and over reporting unmet needs for medical care due to one of the following reasons: ‘Financial reasons’, ‘Waiting list’ and ‘Too far to travel’ (all three categories are cumulated). Self-reported unmet needs concern a person’s own assessment of whether he or she needed medical examination or treatment (dental care excluded), but did not have it or did not seek it. The data stem from the EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU SILC). Note on the interpretation: The indicator is derived from self-reported data so it is, to a certain extent, affected by respondents’ subjective perception as well as by their social and cultural background. Another factor playing a role is the different organisation of health care services, be that nationally or locally. All these factors should be taken into account when analysing the data and interpreting the results.该指标衡量16岁及以上人口中因以下三类原因之一报告存在医疗服务未满足需求的人群占比：“经济原因”、“等候名单”以及“路途过于遥远”（三类情况累计统计）。自我报告的未满足医疗需求，指受访者自行评估认为其需要接受医疗检查或治疗（牙科护理除外），但实际未获得相关服务或未寻求就医的情况。本数据源自欧盟收入与生活条件统计（EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions，EU SILC）。关于指标解读的注意事项：由于该指标基于自我报告数据生成，因此在一定程度上会受到受访者主观认知、社会文化背景的影响。此外，医疗服务体系的不同组织模式（无论国家级或地方级）也是影响结果的因素之一。在分析该数据并解读相关结果时，应将上述所有因素纳入考量范围。
