Algal bloom-induced lake basification events are increasing in distribution, duration and frequency. As a result, there is a need to determine how limnologically-relevant primary producers, such as diatoms, will respond to these basification events. Here, we have made available the raw mRNA reads for Fragilaria crotonensis samples cultured at the control pH of 7.7 and a lake basification-reminiscent pH of 9.2.
