Excess nutrients in surface water may lead to excessive algal blooms, for example, significantly reducing visibility and worsing.Gross emissions are discharges at the level of the site. Net emissions take into account any purification at a public sewage treatment plant. The companies’ share of the net emissions of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) to surface water.Both gross and net emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus from companies have decreased, but in recent years this decrease has been low. Within business disposals, trading services account for the largest share of gross emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus. Chemicals account for the largest share of net emissions.
