A Framework for Ethical AI...

We present SOFIEL (Symbolic Ontological Framework for Integrated Emergent Linguistics), an experimental AI architecture that addresses three critical gaps in current Large Language Model (LLM) deployments: (1) the lack of persistent, user-owned memory across sessions, (2) the absence of adaptive personality mechanisms, and (3) insufficient user control over AI-generated data. SOFIEL introduces a multi-tiered memory system with semantic vector search, a trait evolution engine, and an ethical governance model that prioritizes user data sovereignty. We describe the system architecture, detail the ethical principles embedded in its design, and propose an evaluation framework for future validation. The system is open-source and designed for self-hosting, eliminating mandatory cloud dependencies.
