Municipality Study Juelich (Friends)

The survey of friends of the persons surveyed in ZA Study No. 0516
contains two complexes of topics:
1. Political attitudes and
2. Social structure and friendships in a small town.

Topics: The questions of this study present a subset of the
questionnaire of ZA Study No. 0516: 1. Degree of familiarity of local
politicians; judgement on political influence of industry, trade union
and church; tax reduction versus increase in social services of the
government; personal sympathy in wage conflicts; political interest;
behavior at the polls in the Federal Parliament election 1969 and in
the municipal election 1969; party preference.

2. Naming three friends; manner of getting to know them; length of
friendship; topics of conversation with these friends; demographic
information on friends; party preference and opinion leadership of the
friends; frequency of meeting; size of circle of friends; local ties;
satisfaction with what one has achieved; memberships; religiousness;
self-assessment of social class.

Demography: age; sex; marital status; number of children; religious
denomination; school education; occupation; professional position;
employment; income; head of household; social origins; place of birth;
regional origins.

Interviewer rating: reliability and willingness of respondent to
cooperate; number of contact attempts; presence of other persons during
interview and their family relation to respondent; interruptions of
interview; type of building.
