Data for, "Prescribed Biomass Burning Effects on Soil NOₓ Emissions in South Carolina"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the manuscript "Prescribed Biomass Burning Effects on Soil NO Emissions in South Carolina" and contains measurements of nitric oxide (NO) fluxes and associated soil properties from prescribed fire experiments conducted in pine forests across South Carolina. Data were collected during the 2023–2024 burn seasons from replicated pre-burn and post-burn soil plots, as well as from nitrogen amendment experiments designed to test the influence of nitrogen availability on NO emissions. Soil NO fluxes were measured using dynamic chamber methods and expressed as ng-N h⁻¹ g⁻¹ dry soil. Soil physicochemical properties (pH, gravimetric water content, ammonium, nitrate) were measured from paired soil cores. Soil surface temperature profiles were recorded during burns to quantify heating intensity. Chamber blank tests were conducted to assess background NO levels. Files Pre-Burn NO Flux.xlsx – NO flux measurements from all plots prior to prescribed burns. Post-Burn NO Flux.xlsx – NO flux measurements from the same plots following prescribed burns. Ammonium Nitrate Amendment NO Flux.xlsx – Field experiment data on NO flux response to inorganic nitrogen additions. Soil Physiochemical Data.xlsx – Soil property measurements (pH, gravimetric water content, NH₄⁺, NO₃⁻). Soil Burn Temperature Data.xlsx – Soil surface temperature data collected during prescribed burns. Chamber Blanks.xlsx – Background NO concentration data from chamber blank tests. FormatAll datasets are provided in Microsoft Excel format (.xlsx) with clearly labeled columns, units, and metadata.
