Fiction and History: Polarity and Stylistic Gradience in Late Imperial Chinese Literature

This corpus consists of texts written in Chinese during the Ming and Qing dynasties, spanning roughly 1368 to the early 20th century (the newest text was written in 1916). The texts have been mostly pre-cleaned. The only English found in most of the files are indications of chapter or scroll breaks in the format ~~~START| Title of Chapter/Scroll |START~~~ This was done to ease breaking the texts into organic sections. Most of the corpus consists of texts found on wenxian.fanren8.com, a website that provides free access to Imperial Chinese literature. A number of texts were also found at projectgutenberg.org

本语料库（corpus）收录的均为明清时期的中文文本，时间跨度大致为1368年至20世纪早期（最新文本创作于1916年）。多数文本已完成预清洗处理。多数文件中仅存的英文内容为章节或卷册的分隔标记，格式为~~~START| 章节/卷册标题 |START~~~，此举便于将文本拆分为自然语义段落。本语料库的大部分文本源自站点wenxian.fanren8.com，该平台可免费提供中国古代文学文献的访问权限。另有部分文本来自projectgutenberg.org。
