During August and September 2018, a total of 137 radiosondes were launched at the former DACCIWA site in Accra, Ghana, in the framework of the CAFE-Africa project (Chemistry of the Atmosphere - Field Experiment in Africa), led by MPI-C Mainz. Members of both MPI-C Mainz and KIT were involved in the radiosonde campaign. This dataset, which focuses on the little dry season at the Guinea coast, can be considered as a continuation of the DACCIWA radiosonde dataset for Accra.<br />

Observing strategy: <br />
The radiosonde campaign lasted from 10 August to 09 September 2018. Four launches per day at the synoptic hours (00,06,12,18 UTC) were targeted. The abundance of material allowed additional launches at 09 UTC, starting on 26 August, and at 15 UTC, starting on 02 September. All launches were ingested into the GTS via DWD.<br />
<br />
The dataset contains high resolution data as wel as the TEMP messages as text files. The metadata contains an overview of the availability and the radiosonde protocol with environmental conditions upon launch.
