Data for hybrid life cycle assessment of seaweed-based climate-friendly livestock feed using process-based LCA and environmentally extended multi-regional input-output analysis

This repository contains Python notebooks, scenario-specific input workbooks, supporting emission calculations, and documentation for an environmentally extended multi-regional input-output assessment of seaweed-based feed interventions in European dairy and beef systems. The repository includes four modelled cases: the Present Scenario, Future Scenario A, Future Scenario B, and the Full Market-Entry Scenario. The Present Scenario applies seaweed supplementation to the Danish organic dairy share. Future Scenarios A and B apply seaweed supplementation to the organic share of the “Raw milk” and “Cattle farming” sectors in the six study countries. The Full Market-Entry Scenario is a mixed mitigation pathway in which the organic share receives seaweed supplementation and the remaining conventional share is represented by a Bovaer-equivalent methane-reduction intervention. Outputs cover greenhouse-gas emissions, CO₂, N₂O, CH₄, land use, employment, domestic production-based footprints, imported and exported footprints, regional differences, and environmental and socioeconomic intensities. The Zenodo deposit is organised as two archives. ClimateFeed_EE-MRIO.zip contains the four scenario-specific model folders, including the Jupyter notebooks, scenario input workbooks, supporting calculations, raw model outputs, final processed results, and README documentation. ClimateFeed_Figure_Generation.zip contains the Python notebook used for manuscript-level figure generation and the associated figure outputs. EXIOBASE is not redistributed with the repository; users must obtain EXIOBASE 3.8.2 separately and provide a local directory that can be loaded through pymrio. The exact scenario quantities and modelling assumptions are contained in the scenario-specific Excel files and notebooks.
