Knowledge mobilization and translation describe the process of transferring knowledge from research and development (R&D) laboratories to environments where it can be deployed. There is a growing interest in understanding knowledge mobilization mechanisms, particularly those governing collaborations between academia and industry. These mechanisms include funding programs, research centers, conferences, and similar initiatives. In this work, we focus on a specific knowledge mobilization mechanism: the CASCON conference, the annual meeting of the IBM Center for Advanced Studies (CAS). When CAS was established in 1990, its core mission was to promote collaborations between IBM's Toronto laboratory and university researchers from around the world. The first CAS conference (CASCON) was held in 1991, one year after the founding of CAS. The annual conference has long focused, and will continue to focus, on gathering academic researchers, industry practitioners and technology users in a shared forum to exchange ideas and showcase the results of collaborative work conducted at CAS. The outcomes presented at CASCON serve as exemplary cases of knowledge mobilization and the translation of academic research into practical applications. We have collected data related to CASCON over the past 25 years, including information on papers, technical demonstrations, workshops and keynote speeches. The resulting dataset, named "CASCONet", can be utilized for analytical research and integration with other relevant datasets.
