In situ, navigational, physical and profile oceanographic data were collected, including CONDUCTIVITY, CURRENT DIRECTION, CURRENT SPEED, DEPTH - OBSERVATION, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, SALINITY and WATER TEMPERATURE from Moored Buoy at the Meridional Overturning Variability Experiment (MOVE3) using C-T recorder, current meter, inverted echo sounder (IES) and pressure sensors from 2000-02-04 to 2014-12-19. These data were provided to one of the OceanSITES Data Assembly Centers (DAC). The DAC formatted this information into the OceanSITES file format and passed it on to the Global Data Assembly Centers (GDAC).
OceanSITES is a worldwide system of long-term, open-ocean reference stations measuring dozens of variables and monitoring the full depth of the ocean from air-sea interactions down to the seafloor. It is a network of stations or observatories measuring many aspects of the ocean's surface and water column using, where possible, automated systems with advanced sensors and telecommunications systems, yielding high time resolution, often in real-time, while building a long record.

海洋观测站网络(OceanSITES)是一套全球性长期开放海洋参考站系统,可同步观测数十项环境变量,实现从海气相互作用至海底的全海洋深度剖面监测。该网络由多座观测站/海洋观测平台组成,尽可能采用搭载先进传感器与通信系统的自动化观测设备,对海洋表层及水体柱的多项参数进行测量,可获取高时间分辨率数据(通常为实时数据流),同时积累长期连续观测序列。
