These datasets contain cell cycle phase proportions and transcript abundance data for two strains of European corn borer (<em>Ostrinia nubilalis</em>) with different diapause timing. The study aimed to investigate potential differences in cell cycle progression between the two strains across diapause and nondiapause development. The cell cycle phases analyzed were G0/G1, S, and G2/M. Transcript abundance data focused on cell cycle associated genes between the two strains across diapause and nondiapause development.
