Isotope data collected from ice cores at Mill Island

This dataset comprises a collection of Excel spreadsheets of isotope analysis collected from ice cores from Mill Island.However, this metadata record has been completed without input from any of the contributing researchers, and any information provided here is conjectural. The metadata record has been created by staff at the Australian Antarctic Data Centre.General information about project 1236 (the AAS/ASAC project under which these data were collected):The climate variability of the Southern Ocean sector of the circum-Antarctic and East Antarctic is investigated using ice core studies. The project will produce a 200-300 year history of atmospheric circulation in the Australian and Southern Ocean sector of the circum-Antarctic, associated with the Antarctic Circumpolar Wave (ACW), the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the Southern Annular Mode (SAM) of climate variability. Proxy rainfall records for south-west Western Australia will be developed from the ice-core data, and extend the instrumental rainfall data by 100-200 years.
