Sample dataset for the paper "Optimal Mesh Post-Processing: ’Where’, ’Why’, ’When’, ’What’, and ’How’ Alterations Occur in Mesh Simplification", submitted to the Journal Computers & Graphics. The dataset includes values for one of the twenty investigated objects, specifically the one named 3BB.It includes: Baseline version of the object, with no post-processing applied. Each simplification stage using all of the four simplificatiom algorithms. (Decimation, Edge Collapse, Vertex Clustering, and Quadric Error Metrics.) Distances metrics for each simplification stage to the baseline, measured in both Hausdorff and Chamfer distances. Optimal vertex neighbourhoods. 16 geometric features for each neighbourhood for each simplification stage. 8 graph metrics for each neighbourhood for each simplification stage. Statistical distances for value changes in distance metrics, geometric features, and graph metrics. Partial spearman correlations between geometric features/graph metrics to distance metrics.
