Dataset description This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Conceptual ambiguity in forest acclimation studies: a critical review". Data collection A systematic literature search was conducted using Web of Science with the search terms "acclimation" AND "forest" in the title, covering publications from 1990 to 2024. Studies were included if they: (1) used measurable indicators to explicitly quantify or assess acclimation responses; (2) included field studies, controlled environment experiments, or observational data; (3) focused on trees or forest ecosystems; and (4) were published as original research articles or review papers. The final dataset includes 55 studies.
