POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT SITE LA 105139, CARLSBAD CAVERNS NATIONAL PARK, NEW MEXICO

Samples from a trench in a rock ring midden at Site LA 105139 in
southeastern New Mexico were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. In
addition, soil from the modern surface was collected as a control for pollen
samples from the excavated trench. The rock ring midden at this site is believed
to have been used for roasting cacti, and radiocarbon dates from this site range
from approximately 1040 to 590 BP. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to
provide information concerning plants processed in this feature.

针对新墨西哥州东南部LA 105139遗址石圈食余堆积坑探方采集的样品，开展了孢粉与大植物遗存鉴定分析。此外，研究人员还采集了现代地表土壤，作为该发掘探方内孢粉样品的对照样本。该遗址的石圈食余堆积被推断曾用于烤制仙人掌，遗址的碳十四测年数据年代范围约为距今1040年至590年。本次孢粉与大植物遗存分析旨在获取该加工遗迹中所利用植物类群的相关信息。
