South Stoneham House, Swaythling, Southampton (SOU1576)

Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Stephens Cox Associates Ltd on behalf of the University of Southampton to carry out a programme of Historic Building Recording and an Archaeological Watching Brief at South Stoneham House, Wessex Lane, Southampton, SO18 2NW centred on National Grid Reference (NGR) 443871, 115433. The Grade II* listed building was originally built in 1708 for Edward Dummer and became a University Hall of Residence from 1926 - 1980 since when it has remained vacant pending a new use.
