Comparative transcriptome associated with bulbil gravitational elongation in Chniese Yam

Chinese yam (Dioscorea Opposita Thunb.) is a traditional Chinese medicine with both medicinal and edible value. The axillary bulbil of Chinese yam is an important propagating material for breeding seedlings, breeding good varieties, maintaining good characteristics of varieties and molecular genetic improvement. The bulbil size of Yam has great influence on seedling yield. Based on Illumina RNA sequencing, the conventional non-elongating bulbils and the gravity-elongating bulbils were compared. It provides a good foundation for further study on gravity elongation growth of Yam bulbil.
