Research on the Treatment of IgA Nephropathy with Telitacicept

This retrospective study evaluated telitacicept in refractory IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Thirty patients with IgAN unresponsive to 6-9 months of prior immunosuppressive therapy were treated with telitacicept and compared against 40 glucocorticoid-treated controls over 36 weeks. At week 36, the telitacicept group achieved a 57.88% reduction in 24-hour proteinuria (from 2.18 to 0.53 g/d) and a 27% improvement in eGFR-EPI (from 73.75 to 100.70 ml/min/1.73m²). Efficacy was comparable to the glucocorticoid group (56.86% proteinuria reduction, 36.64% eGFR improvement), with fewer adverse events and no major safety concerns. Telitacicept represents a safe and effective alternative for refractory IgAN.
