AP and SAT Score Distribution Dataset — AP 1-5 Score Distributions and SAT Total-Score Percentiles

An open reference dataset of US college-admissions exam score distributions. It pairs two complementary views. AP exams are scored 1-5, and the College Board publishes the share of test-takers earning each score annually; the dataset holds the long-run distribution for three high-volume AP exams — Calculus AB, US History, and English Language & Composition — where each exam's five score shares sum to 100%. The SAT is scored 400-1600 and the College Board publishes the cumulative percentile for each total-score anchor; the dataset holds those percentile anchors from a perfect 1600 (99th percentile) down to 800 (1st percentile), letting any total score be mapped to its national standing. Score 3 on an AP exam is the standard "Qualified" passing cut, and an SAT total of 1050 sits near the national median. An interactive tool that converts raw exam scores into percentiles and verdicts using these distributions is published as the ExamScoreCalc AP & SAT score calculator, which turns a composite score into a percentile and pass/fail read.
