Dalhousie Survey (Scientific Expedition Group) Survey

Witjira National Park Dalhousie Mound Springs survey conducted by Scientific Expedition Group (SEG) in 2003. Expedition Witjira 2003 was a major collaboration between the SEG, DEH and NPWS. The main objective was to conduct a biodiversity survey of the area, particularly the mound springs, to observe any differences between the springs with original vegetation and those where feral date palms are invading the springs.Other objectives were to search for rare rodents, Kowari and marsupial Moles ans survey for feral animals. The Dalhousie Survey (Scientific Expedition Group) Survey is part of the Biological Survey of South Australia Program which is a series of systematic surveys conducted across the state between 1971 and the present with the broad aim of providing a baseline inventory of South Australia's flora and fauna biodiversity.

2003年，科学考察团（Scientific Expedition Group，SEG）针对威吉拉国家公园达尔豪斯丘泉开展了专项调查。2003年威吉拉考察项目是科学考察团（SEG）、环境与遗产部（Department of Environment and Heritage，DEH）以及国家公园与野生动物服务局（National Parks and Wildlife Service，NPWS）联合实施的重大合作项目。本次调查的核心目标为对该区域尤其是丘泉（mound springs）开展生物多样性普查，对比原生植被覆盖的泉眼与遭受入侵性枣椰树（feral date palms）侵占的泉眼之间的生态差异；其余目标包括搜寻稀有啮齿类动物、寇瓦里袋鼬（Kowari）以及袋鼹（marsupial moles），并开展入侵野生动物调查。本项目已发布正式报告：《2003年7月12日—26日威吉拉考察中期报告：达尔豪斯丘泉及周边区域生物多样性调查》（螺旋装帧），由珍妮特·弗勒（Janet Furler）与理查德·威林（Richard Willing）共同编辑。达尔豪斯调查项目（科学考察团）是《南澳大利亚州生物调查计划》的组成部分，该计划是1971年至今在南澳全州范围内持续开展的系统性调查系列，其总体目标为建立南澳大利亚州动植物生物多样性的基线名录。
