Automated MATLAB Script for Systematic Literature Retrieval

A custom MATLAB script was developed to automate the search and filtering of relevant journal articles from scientific databases. The script uses predefined search strings, target keywords, and publication year filters to query literature sources, including the ability to restrict searches to specific publishers such as MDPI, Elsevier, or others, and to merge results from multiple queries into a single, deduplicated file. Metadata such as title, abstract, DOI, publication year, and source are retrieved and exported into structured formats for screening. The consolidated results are sorted chronologically by year, providing an organized overview of the literature. This tool significantly enhanced the efficiency and reproducibility of the literature collection phase, ensuring consistent application of inclusion criteria across multiple sources and producing a master file that is particularly suitable for systematic literature searches.
