Retrospective dataset for naturally infected horses with equine encephalosis virus, their clinical presentation, and laboratory data

This dataset presents retrospective data obtained from the medical records of horses identified as infected with equine encephalosis virus and includes data on the age, breed, sex, time of the year at presentation, historical abnormalities, duration of illness, and medications administered prior to presentation to the hospital. Data is also included on the clinical examination findings, results of diagnostic tests performed within 24 hours of admission including RT-PCR for EE and Ct count, complete blood count, venous blood gas analysis and biochemistry, and results of subsequent examinations as well as total days of pyrexia (rectal temperature > 38.5 degrees Celsius (⁰C)) from when it was first identified, total length of hospitalization and patient outcome.
