Modeling the Impact of Human-Centered AI, Algorithm Transparency, and Emotional Intelligence on Digital Well-Being: The Mediating Role of Trust
收藏资源简介:
This study examines the impact of human-centered artificial intelligence (HCAI), algorithm transparency, and emotional intelligence on digital well-being, with trust as a mediating variable. The rapid adoption of AI technologies has transformed human–technology interaction, raising concerns about users’ psychological well-being and the need for human-centered system design. Drawing on the principles of positive computing and Orange Technology, this study proposes an integrated model linking technological and psychological factors to digital well-being. A quantitative approach was employed using a cross-sectional survey of 200 Generation Z users who actively interact with AI-based digital platforms. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that human-centered AI, algorithm transparency, and emotional intelligence have significant positive effects on trust. Trust, in turn, significantly influences digital well-being. Furthermore, human-centered AI and emotional intelligence also demonstrate significant direct effects on digital well-being. Mediation analysis confirms that trust plays a significant mediating role in the relationships between all independent variables and digital well-being, indicating a partial mediation effect. The model also shows high explanatory power, with R² values of 0.952 for trust and 0.943 for digital well-being. This study contributes to the literature by integrating human-centered AI, transparency, emotional intelligence, and trust into a comprehensive framework explaining digital well-being. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of designing AI systems that are user-centered, transparent, and emotionally responsive to enhance trust and promote positive user experiences. The study supports the development of AI technologies that foster empathy, trust, and societal well-being in line with the concept of Orange Technology.
