This dataset contains township-level afforestation statistics from the 2000 socio-economic survey data of Fengning County, a demonstration county under the Beijing-Tianjin Sand Source Control Project. The collected indicators include: township code, township name, total annual afforestation area, converted farmland to forest area (subset of total afforestation), annual artificial afforestation area, annual timber forest planting area, annual economic forest planting area, annual shelterbelt planting area, annual cut-over land reforestation area, artificial reforestation area (subset of cut-over land reforestation), mountain closure for afforestation area, newly closed afforestation area in the current year (subset of mountain closure), annual four-side tree planting volume, annual young forest tending operation area, annual mature forest tending area, nursery area, newly established nursery area in the current year (subset of nursery area), annual nursery stock output, and annual forest seed collection volume. Additionally, the dataset also includes comprehensive 2000 socio-economic statistical data for all townships in Fengning County, covering: spatial distribution of land use types by township, fiscal and financial indicators, gross national product, gross industrial and agricultural product, population structure and employment status of Fengning County, climate data of Fengning County, township-level animal husbandry production status, number of livestock enclosures by township, grassland grading statistics of Fengning County, and land desertification status of Fengning County, among other relevant metrics.
