A monthly time-averaged 2-dimensional data collection of surface flux diagnostics is available in the Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications version 2 (MERRA-2). It provides global model and data assimilation results that incorporate satellite-based observations to predict monthly surface (approx. 60 m above ground) flux diagnostics, that include total precipitation, bias corrected total precipitation, surface air temperature, surface specific humidity, surface wind speed, and evaporation from turbulence.
