Abundance data of 0-group herring and sprat along the Norwegian Skagerrak coastline provided by a beach seine survey

An annual beach seine survey has been conducted between 1919-2018 along the Norwegian Skagerrak coastline. Data from the beach seine survey was used to estimate an annual abundance index (AAI) for 0-group herring (Clupea harengus) and sprat (Sprattus sprattus). The abundance index was linked to survey indices and stock estimates of neighboring stocks, as well as to environmental and physical factors in the Skagerrak and North Sea. This data was used to model the populations dynamics of 0-group herring and sprat along the Skagerrak coastline.
