Here we performed pulse-chase experiments with 13C-enriched dissolved inorganic carbon, followed by TEM and quantitative NanoSIMS isotopic imaging to visualize photosynthetic C assimilation by individual symbiotic dinoflagellates and subsequent translocation to their Orbulina universa host.
本研究以富含碳-13(13C)的溶解无机碳开展脉冲追踪实验,随后借助透射电子显微镜(TEM)与定量纳米二次离子质谱(NanoSIMS)同位素成像技术,实现对单个共生甲藻光合碳同化过程的可视化观测,并追踪光合碳向其宿主环球抱球虫(Orbulina universa)的后续转运过程。
