Use of mobile information technology for real-time monitoring and mapping of polio campaign coverage in Iraq

Mobile information technology may support the collection of standardised data in a timely manner to inform and improve decision-making for polio programming and response. We utilised mobile smartphones to collect and map data from more than ten thousand households during six national and subnational rounds of polio immunisation in Iraq between April to September 2014. The combined results of household post-campaign monitoring surveys across all six campaigns are presented here, together with discussion of the application of mobile information technology for polio campaign monitoring and mapping in a real-time setting.

移动信息技术可支持及时采集标准化数据，为脊髓灰质炎（polio）防控项目与应对工作的决策制定提供依据并优化决策水平。2014年4月至9月间，研究团队在伊拉克开展的6轮全国及次国家级脊髓灰质炎免疫接种活动中，借助移动智能手机完成了超1万户家庭的数据采集与空间绘图工作。本数据集收录了全部6轮活动的家庭接种后监测调查汇总结果，并就移动信息技术在实时场景下应用于脊髓灰质炎防控活动监测与数据绘图的实践展开探讨。
