The database provides a piece of detailed information about historical floods in the 17th–18th centuries (1701–1800) for the current boundary of Poland comprises the regions of Baltic Coast and Pomerania, Masuria-Podlasie, Greater Poland, Masovia, Silesia, and Lesser Poland. The database gives details about a variety of documentary evidence used to evaluate flood events occurrences in Poland, such as narrative written sources (annals and chronicles), public administration documents; diaries, and private correspondence.The database contains important additional and detailed information such as the location, time, and duration of the flood, the exact textual content of the original weather note, the name of the source, an evaluation of the source’s quality, and the author’s estimation of the intensity and origin of the flood.
