Polarimetric images of mechanically generated water waves coupled with surface elevation measurements

A total of 170,298 polarimetric images, in 54 sequences of artificial light reflections from water surface waves. The propagating waves were mechanically generated in control laboratory experiments. Measurements of the water surface elevation fluctuations were collected by resistance-type WGs. The images were collected, in 32 Hz, by a polarimetric camera with linear polarization filters. Several camera position and orientation relative to the wave propagation direction were used. In each camera location, images of standard checkerboard were taken with measured ground control points to perform camera spatial calibration.
