"This paper presents the design and implementation of a USB-based medical data logger for real-time monitoring of vital parameters, specifically pulse rate and body temperature. The system is built around the PIC18F4550 microcontroller, which serves as the central processing unit for data acquisition, processing, and communication. A Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor is employed to measure pulse rate by detecting variations in blood volume, while an LM35 sensor is used for accurate body temperature measurement. The analog signals obtained from the sensors are converted into digital form using the microcontroller\u2019s built-in Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and displayed on a 16\u00d72 LCD module.The system supports continuous monitoring and enables data transmission to a computer via a USB interface for real-time visualization and long-term storage. Designed to be portable, cost-effective, and user-friendly, the proposed system is suitable for both clinical and home healthcare applications. Experimental results demonstrate an accuracy of approximately \u00b12 BPM for pulse rate and \u00b10.1\u00b0C to \u00b10.2\u00b0C for temperature measurement, indicating reliable performance. The integration of real-time monitoring with digital data logging makes the system an efficient solution for basic health monitoring and analysis. "
