This study investigated the effects of a long-term (12-week) obesogenic diet (high-fat and high-sugar) on gene expression in the nucleus accumbens of male and female rats selectively classified as obesity-prone (top one-third of the population based on weight gain on the obesogenic diet) or obesity-resistant (bottom one-third of the population on the obesogenic diet). Brain tissue was collected after 12 weeks of dietary exposure for molecular analyses.
