The Skejby Project (follow-up), 2004

The primary purpose of this study is to: Identify the relevant psychosocial problems in the work environment. Develop interventions aimed at improving the work environment and reducing the sickness absence. Evaluate the process and effects of the interventions. A total of 446 employees at a large hospital participated in the follow-up study. A questionnaire survey on work environment and health was conducted in 2002. The questionnaire furthermore included open questions regarding the positive and negative aspects of the job. This study was the basis for the interventions which were carried out in seven sectors of the hospital in 2003. The study was carried out as a controlled intervention study. The interventions consisted of identifying the problems and how to solve them and establishing workshops and other activities related to the topics which the employees decided to focus on. A follow-up survey was conducted in the first half of 2004. The follow-up survey includes questions from the first survey as well as questions evaluating the intervention.
