To clarify the effects of the processed foods containing burdock on gut microbiota, human faecal slurries were inoculated into cultures containing roasted burdock tea powder which low molecular weight compounds had been removed and small amounts of FOS. Then, after 24h anaerobic incubation, organic acids, putrefactive compounds (ammonia, indole, phenol) were analysed. And then, the bacterial microbiome was analysed with 16S rDNA (V3-V4) amplicon sequences.
