The developmental proteome and transcriptome of Bombyx mori

We generated extensive proteome and transcriptome data covering major developmental stages throughout the entire life cycle of B. mori. Exploring and comparing these data sets we were able to detect interesting underlying mechanisms that might be crucial for the developmental process in B. mori. The produced comprehensive datasets can be used as a resource for future research in silkworms and for comparisons with other insects. Like B. mori, the fruit fly is a holometabolous insect that undergoes a complete metamorphosis throughout its life, with the same stages (egg, larva, pupa and adult).
