Global App Store Price Index: App Store subscription prices in 18 countries compared with the United States

The Global App Store Price Index provides a transparent reference point for cross-border digital price parity. Built on a basket of leading software subscriptions compared like-for-like, it measures how local market pricing deviates from the dollar-standard baseline. For each country it gives the median difference between local App Store subscription prices and US prices for the same plans, converted to US dollars, with the 10th–90th percentiles, the share of subscriptions cheaper than in the US, a purchasing-power ratio based on IMF World Economic Outlook data, category medians and all 3,120 individual prices. Method: each app is tracked at one plan and a country's price counts only when its store sells that plan on the same billing cycle as the US store. Local prices are converted at a single day's reference rate and compared with the US price; a country's index is the median of those differences. Countries need at least 30 matched subscriptions. Free listings are dropped, and prices more than three times the app's cross-country median, or that don't match the store's own listing, are left out.
